W016 is a generic 19mm joiner supplied with two hose clamps, used to connect two lengths of hose end to end. It's a simple way to extend a washing machine drain hose that won't reach the standpipe, or to repair one that has split part way along. The clamps hold each hose firmly on the joiner so the join stays put when the pump runs.
Joining or extending a drain hose
A drain hose that's too short, kinked or damaged in one spot doesn't always need replacing in full. Cut out the bad section or add an extension, then join the ends with this 19mm joiner. Each hose slides over one end of the joiner and a clamp is tightened over it, sealing the connection. Keep the finished hose free of sharp bends and make sure its highest point sits at the height your appliance's manual specifies, otherwise the washer may siphon or drain slowly.

Fitting tips
Unplug the machine before working on its hoses. Cut the hose ends square, push each one fully onto the joiner, then tighten a clamp over each end. Check that 19mm suits the inside of your hose before ordering. Run a drain cycle with a bucket or towel handy and check the join for leaks.
