SPK0931 is the genuine Blanco light assembly for Blanco rangehoods with standard, non-LED lighting. It's the complete light fitting rather than just a globe, so it's the part to order when the holder, housing or wiring is damaged. If your Blanco hood has LED lights, you need the LED lamp SPL0418 instead. Check the model label inside the hood before ordering SPK0931.

Blanco rangehood light not working?

Rangehood lights sit right in the path of heat, steam and grease rising from the cooktop, which is hard on lamp holders, terminals and lenses. A light assembly usually needs replacing when a new globe doesn't fix the problem, the holder has cracked or browned with heat, the lens or surround is broken, or the light flickers and cuts out as the hood warms up. Loose or scorched terminals are a common cause. If only one of two lights has stopped, try swapping the globes between them first to rule out a blown globe.

Fitting the light assembly

Switch the rangehood off and isolate the power, at the wall if it plugs in or at the switchboard if it's hard-wired. Let the old light cool before touching it. Remove the grease filters to reach the light, photograph the wiring and fit the new assembly the same way round. Hard-wired rangehoods should be worked on by a licensed electrician.
