Rangehood not pulling smoke or dripping grease?

The aluminium filter traps grease from cooking fumes before the air reaches the fan and ducting. Swapping the filter

Switch the rangehood off and make sure the cooktop and filter are cool. Release the catch on the filter and lower it out, supporting it so grease doesn't drip onto the cooktop. Check the size against the new filter, then hook the back edge in first and push it up until the catch clicks. Run the fan to check for rattles.
