Rangehood light out over the cooktop?

Rangehood globes have a tough job, sitting in heat, steam and grease right above the cooktop, and that environment shortens their life. Changing the rangehood globe

Switch the rangehood off and turn it off at the wall or isolate it at the switchboard. Let the old globe cool, as it can be very hot. Remove the light cover if fitted, unscrew the globe anticlockwise and screw the new one in until it's just firm. Handle the globe with a clean cloth rather than bare fingers, refit the cover and test the light.

Stick with the wattage your rangehood was designed for, which is normally marked near the lamp holder or in the manual. A higher wattage globe runs hotter and can damage the holder or the light cover.
