Product details
This genuine LG door seal carries part number MDS67640001. It's the rubber seal that closes the gap around a door opening so water or air stays where it belongs. Door seals vary a lot between LG models in diameter, profile and drain holes, so the number on your old seal is the best way to confirm a match. There are no compatible models on file yet, so please check before ordering.
When an LG door seal needs replacing
Every time the door shuts, the seal is squeezed, and in laundry appliances it's also flexed by a moving drum and soaked by warm water. Over time it can tear, stiffen, collapse or grow mould that cleaning won't remove. Typical signs include water or lint escaping around the door, a wet floor in front of the appliance, a door that's hard to close, or a persistent musty odour. Small splits tend to grow quickly once they start.

Replacing the door seal
Power the machine down at the wall and shut the water off at the taps. Photograph the old seal in place, noting any mark at the top and where the drain holes sit. Release the retaining clamp or ring, ease the seal off and clean the lip it fits onto. Seat the new seal evenly all the way round before refitting the clamp, then test with a short cycle.
Questions about this part
Is there a way to check this seal before I buy?
Yes. LG moulds or prints the part number into most door seals, so fold back the rubber and look for it. If it reads MDS67640001 you have the right number. Otherwise send your model through the parts enquiry form.
