This gasket fills the space between the cabinet front and the wash drum, and the door glass presses into it to keep water in during washing and spinning. Changing an LG door gasket

Unplug the washer and turn off the taps. Prise off the outer spring band around the front, fold the gasket back and undo the inner clamp that holds it to the drum lip. Note any alignment marks and drain holes before you pull it out. Seat the new gasket fully on the drum lip with its marks lined up, refit both bands, then run a rinse and spin to check for leaks.
