When the old gasket has hardened, split or come loose, a fresh seal is a simple fix that stops the leak at its source.
Signs your LG dishwasher door seal is leaking
During a wash, hot water and spray hit every part of the door. The gasket is squeezed between the door and the tub so that water stays inside. Heat, detergent and food acids gradually harden the rubber until it loses its spring, and sections can tear or pull out of their channel. You may notice puddles in front of the dishwasher, water marks on the kickboard or cabinetry, steam escaping at the top of the door, or mould and grime building up in the folds of the old seal.

Replacing the gasket
Turn the dishwasher off at the wall. Pull the old gasket out of its channel and clean the channel thoroughly, as leftover grime stops the new seal seating. Start at the top centre and press the new gasket in evenly toward each end, without stretching it. Close the door to check it seals all the way round, then run a short cycle and look for drips.

Can I clean the old seal instead of replacing it?
If the seal is only dirty, a wipe with warm soapy water may cure a minor leak. If the rubber is hard, flattened, cracked or torn, cleaning will not bring it back, and the gasket should be replaced.
