Filters like this sit in the path of the air circulating through the appliance and absorb the compounds that cause stale smells. LG uses deodorising filters in more than one product line, and their size and shape vary, so match the number on your old filter or in your owner's manual before ordering. No compatible models are on file for this filter.

When to change a deodorising filter

Deodorising filters work by trapping odour molecules in an absorbent media, usually carbon based. Over months of use that media becomes saturated and stops absorbing, so smells come back even after cleaning. Signs a filter is spent include lingering odours, food smells crossing from one item to another, or a musty smell when the appliance starts up. Washing doesn't normally revive them, so replacing the filter on the schedule in your manual keeps the air fresh.

Part details

Genuine LG part MDJ61848401

Deodorising air filter

Absorbs odours from circulating air

No models on file, match your old filter's number

Replacing the filter

Switch the appliance off at the wall before opening any cover.
