MC6/2 Genuine Deflecto Worm Drive Duct Clamp 150mm 2 Pack Universal Ducting Part for Rangehood and Exhaust Fan Ducts

The Deflecto MC6/2 is a pack of two worm drive clamps sized for 150mm ducting. They clamp flexible or rigid duct onto spigots, inline fans, wall and roof vents and rangehood outlets so joints stay tight and don't pull apart. A screw-driven band means you can tighten each clamp gradually for a firm, even grip, and undo it again later if the duct needs to come off.

Why use worm drive clamps on 150mm ducting?

Duct joints held with tape alone tend to loosen as the adhesive dries out with heat and age, letting the duct slip off or leak air into the ceiling or cabinet. Worm drive clamps wrap a band right around the joint and tighten with a screw, giving a secure connection that can still be undone. Loose or leaking ducting shows up as weak extraction from a rangehood, steam or grease marks in the roof space, rattling ducts or a duct that has dropped off the outlet completely.

Fitting the duct clamps

Switch off any fan or rangehood on the duct run at the wall before working on it. Slide the clamp over the duct, push the duct fully onto the spigot, then position the band just behind the spigot's raised edge where there is one. Tighten the screw with a flat screwdriver or nut driver until the duct is held firmly without crushing it. Give the joint a gentle tug to check it.

Will these suit a 100mm or 125mm duct?

They are sized for 150mm ducting. Worm drive bands only adjust over a limited range, so a smaller duct needs a clamp made for that size. Measure the outside of your duct or spigot before ordering.
