Deflecto MC5/2 is a two pack of worm drive clamps for 125mm ducting, used to lock duct onto spigots and fittings so joints don't sag or pull apart. They suit flexible and semi rigid duct on rangehood outlets, inline fans, exhaust fans and roof or wall vents. Each clamp tightens with a screwdriver, so you can snug it down evenly and release it again if the duct ever has to come off.

Why duct joints need a proper clamp

Every joint in a ducting run is a spot where air, steam and grease can escape. Tape on its own tends to dry out and peel with heat, and push-fit joints can slip when the duct is bumped or the fan vibrates. A worm drive clamp wraps around the duct and squeezes it firmly onto the spigot, giving a joint that holds. Loose or missing clamps show up as rattling ducts, weak extraction, moisture marks in the ceiling space, or a duct that has dropped off its fitting altogether.

Tips for clamping 125mm duct

Turn off the rangehood or fan before working on the ducting. Slide the clamp over the duct first, push the duct well onto the spigot, then position the band just behind the spigot's lip. Tighten until the duct is firm but not crushed, especially with thin flexible duct. A wrap of foil duct tape over the joint, under the clamp, adds an extra seal.

Will these clamps fit 100mm or 150mm duct?

These are sized for 125mm ducting. Worm drive clamps have some adjustment, but for a secure joint use a clamp that matches your duct size. Deflecto clamps come in other sizes too, so ask us if you need a different diameter.
