LG uses a run of near-identical numbers for this part, ending in 01, 04, 06, 10, 28 and others, and the differences aren't always obvious by eye. They can come down to colour, finish or the model each one was made for. Read the full number from your LG parts list and make sure it ends in 06 before ordering.

When an LG button lever needs replacing

A button lever is the moulded piece you press, which then pushes on a latch, release or switch behind it. Because it takes a push every time it's used, the thin pivot tabs and hooks are where it usually gives out. Typical signs are a button that sinks in and stays there, moves with no click or response, rattles loose in its opening, or has snapped off altogether. A cracked lever can also jam the mechanism it operates. Replacing the lever on its own is usually a small job compared with replacing the whole panel or handle it sits in.

Part details

Genuine LG part MBG66024506

Button lever, LG description Button, Lever

Several sister numbers exist, check the 06 ending

Supplied as the button lever only

Fitting the new button lever

Unplug the appliance first. The lever is usually held by clips or a small cover, so a plastic pry tool helps avoid scratching the surrounding trim.
