Product details
This is the genuine Mitsubishi Electric ice tray assembly, part KIEV94440. It's the tray in the freezer section where water is held and frozen into cubes. No models are on file, although other parts in the KIEV94 range include door pockets and gaskets for larger Mitsubishi fridges. Ice trays differ between models in size and in how they mount, so check the number on your old tray or send us your model before ordering.
Ice cubes misshapen or tray cracked?
In fridges with automatic ice making, water fills the tray, freezes, then drops into the ice box when the tray twists or tips. Repeated freezing and flexing eventually cracks the plastic. A cracked tray can leak water into the freezer, form ice in odd places, make small or hollow cubes, or jam the ice making cycle. In a manual setup a split tray simply won't hold water. Swapping the tray is usually a simple job.

Replacing the ice tray
Turn the fridge off at the wall, or pause the ice maker if your model allows it, and empty the ice box. Remove the ice bin to see the tray. Note how the old tray locates in the ice maker frame and drive before unclipping it. Fit the new tray the same way, switch back on and throw out the first couple of batches of ice.
Questions about this part
Do I need to throw out the first ice?
It's a good idea. Discard the first batch or two from a new tray so any dust from storage or handling is flushed away, and clean the water tank and its filter if your manual recommends it.
