Product details
KIEHJ3526 is a genuine Mitsubishi Electric tank filter for fridges with an automatic ice maker fed from a refillable water tank. The filter sits in the tank and screens the water before it's pumped up to the ice tray. If your old filter is cracked, discoloured or missing, swapping it is straightforward. Check your fridge model and the part number in the owner's manual before ordering.
Mitsubishi fridge ice maker slow or making small cubes
Fridges with a tank-fed ice maker draw water from a removable tank, through a filter, into a small pump that delivers it to the ice tray. The filter traps particles and helps keep the water path clean. Over time it can clog or collect scale and residue, especially if the tank isn't cleaned regularly, and the pump then struggles to fill the tray. That shows up as small or hollow cubes, slow ice production or no ice at all. A filter that has cracked or come loose lets debris through to the pump.

Changing the tank filter
Pull out the ice maker water tank and empty it. Remove the old filter from its holder, noting which way it sits. Wash the tank in warm water with a little mild detergent and rinse it well. Fit the new filter, refill the tank with fresh drinking water and slide it back until it seats.
Questions about this part
How often should the tank filter be replaced?
Mitsubishi Electric sets the interval in the owner's manual for each fridge, so check yours first. Replace it sooner if it looks discoloured or damaged, or if ice production has dropped even though the tank is full.
