Product details

HR05X01238 is the genuine Haier lower gasket, the rubber seal that closes off the bottom door or drawer on a Haier fridge. A sound seal keeps cold air in and warm, moist air out. Haier uses different gasket sizes and profiles from model to model, so match HR05X01238 with the parts list for your fridge before you order. The model number is on the rating label, usually inside the fridge compartment.

Signs the lower fridge door seal has failed

The gasket presses against the cabinet when the door closes, making an airtight seal around the lower compartment. Over the years the rubber hardens, splits at the corners or loses its shape, and gaps open up. Common signs are frost or ice building up near the seal, condensation on the cabinet face, the compressor running longer than usual and food at the edges not staying cold. A simple test is to close the door on a sheet of paper. If it slides out easily, the seal isn't gripping there.

Fitting the lower gasket

Unpack the new gasket a day early and let it settle flat at room temperature, as folds from packing can stop it sealing. Switch the fridge off at the wall. Pull the old gasket out of its channel or remove its retaining screws, depending on the design, then press the new one in, starting at the corners. Close the door and check the seal all the way round.

Questions about this part

Is this the upper or lower door seal?

HR05X01238 is listed as the lower gasket, so it suits the bottom door or drawer. If you need the upper seal, it will have its own part number. Check the parts list for your Haier model, or send us the model number through our parts enquiry form.
