Part H0180800243A is the genuine tension wheel, or idler pulley, for Fisher & Paykel and Haier clothes dryers. It replaces H0180800243 and measures 47.7mm across and 24.5mm wide. Listed models are the Fisher & Paykel DH8060P1 and DH8060C1, the DH9060P1, DH9060P2, DH9060PG2 and DH9060C1, the DE8060P2, and the Haier HDC80E1.
Squealing or thumping from the dryer
The tension wheel presses against the drive belt to keep it tight around the drum and motor pulley. It spins quickly whenever the drum turns, so its bearing wears with use. A worn wheel squeals, chirps or grinds, especially in the first few minutes of a cycle, and as it gets worse the belt can slip or jump off. You may also find the drum turns unevenly or the dryer makes a thumping sound. If the wheel wobbles, feels rough or has flat spots when spun by hand, replace it.

Fitting the tension wheel
Disconnect the dryer from power and move it away from the wall for access. You'll need to remove panels to reach the belt and tensioner. Take photos of the belt path before you release the tension. Remove the old wheel from its arm, fit the new one, then route the belt back exactly as before. Turn the drum by hand a few times to check the belt runs true. Inspect the belt while it's off, as a worn one is worth changing at the same time.

If the belt is cracked, glazed or stretched, yes. The drive belt for these dryers is a separate part, H0180300006B. Changing both while the dryer is open saves doing the job twice.
