Fitting the pulley
Unplug the dryer and remove the panels needed to reach the fan drive. Photograph the belt path before taking the belt off. Note how the old pulley is held on its shaft, remove it and fit the new one the same way, then refit the belt and turn it by hand to check it runs true. Replace the belt too if it is glazed or cracked.

Do I need a new belt as well?
Not always. If the belt is cracked, shiny or stretched, fitting a new one with the pulley saves pulling the dryer apart twice. If it is in good condition with clean edges, it can go back on.
