Fisher & Paykel dryer door dropping or not latching?
The hinge plate is part of the door mounting and carries the door's weight every time it swings open. If the plate bends, cracks or its mounting holes wear, the door drops at the latch side. A dropped door may not close properly, can rub on the cabinet front, and may not press the door switch, so the dryer will not start or stops mid-cycle. A door that hangs loose also wears the door seal and lets warm, damp air escape into the laundry.

Replacing the hinge plate

Fit the plate, refit the door and tighten everything evenly. Close the door and make sure it latches cleanly before you run the dryer.
