Dishwasher not filling or water supply errors
Every wash starts with the inlet valve. When the control board energises its solenoid, the valve opens and lets water in from the supply hose, then closes when enough has gone in. A failed valve can leave the dishwasher sitting there without filling, stopping with a water supply error, or filling so slowly the program can't continue. If the valve sticks open, water keeps coming in and can trip a leak or overflow fault or end up in the base. Make sure the tap is on and the hose isn't kinked or blocked first.

Fitting the inlet valve
Turn off the water tap and unplug the dishwasher at the wall, then slide it out from under the bench. Disconnect the supply hose with a bucket handy for the water inside it. The valve is at the bottom of the machine, often behind the kick plate. Take a photo of the wiring and hoses, swap the valve over and watch for leaks during the first fill.
