Fisher & Paykel fridge warm or showing a fan fault?
Modern fridge freezers use small electronic fans to push cold air from the cooling coil into the compartments. If this fan stops, the area it serves warms up while the compressor keeps running, frost can build on the coil and some models log a fault or sound an alarm. A worn fan can also chatter, buzz or whine, particularly at start-up. Ice building up around the blade causes similar noises, so look for frost first. If the blade is clear and turns freely by hand but the fan still won't run, the motor or its supply is at fault.

Changing the fridge fan
Turn the fridge off at the wall and move food into an esky or a second fridge. Remove the panels covering the fan, note how the wires are routed and clipped, and unplug the old fan at its connector. Fit the new fan facing the same way as the old one so the airflow goes in the right direction. Reassemble and allow several hours for the temperatures to settle.
