Fisher & Paykel ice maker not making ice
The inlet valve is an electrically operated tap. When the ice maker calls for water, the valve opens to fill the ice tray, then shuts off. A coil that's burnt out leaves the tray dry, so no ice is made. A valve that sticks open or seeps can overfill the tray, freeze the ice into a solid block or leak onto the floor. Low water pressure, a kinked supply line or a blocked filter can cause similar symptoms, so check those too.

Replacing the inlet valve
Unplug the fridge and turn off the water supply tap before you begin. Pull the fridge out carefully so you don't stretch the water line. Photograph the wiring and water connections on the old valve, then transfer them to the new one and make sure each fitting is fully seated. Turn the water on slowly, check for leaks and allow time for the ice maker to start producing again.
