The gasket's job is to seal the freezer door tightly against the cabinet. Inside the rubber profile there's usually a magnetic strip that pulls the seal closed. Once it tears, hardens or loses its shape, warm moist air leaks in and freezes on the nearest cold surface. Fitting the freezer gasket
