Top loader won't fill or keeps filling?
The inlet valve assembly opens and closes to let tap water into the washer whenever the program calls for it. Its solenoids are switched by the control board, and when the power drops away the valve shuts. If a coil burns out, the machine won't fill on that setting and may pause or show an error. If a diaphragm sticks or splits, water can trickle in with the machine switched off, or the tub can overfill. Slow filling is sometimes just blocked mesh screens at the hose connections, which are worth checking before replacing anything.

Fitting the inlet valve assembly
Turn off the hot and cold taps at the wall and unplug the washer. Disconnect the fill hoses and keep a towel handy for the water left inside. Take photos of the wiring and internal hoses before removing the old assembly. Fit the new one in the same position, reconnect the hoses with their washers in place, and run a short fill to check every joint stays dry.
