This genuine Haier knob assembly, H0020812350E, is a control knob from Haier's H002 laundry parts range, normally the program selector dial on the front panel. Turning it moves the selector switch behind the panel to choose the wash program. Knob spinning freely or programs not selecting?
A knob looks simple, but the plastic insert that grips the selector shaft takes a lot of twisting force. When it cracks or wears smooth, the knob spins without moving the switch, slips between programs or pulls straight off. Some knobs also include a trim ring or cap that can break. If the knob turns and the display changes but the wrong program runs, the fault is more likely the control board or selector switch than the knob.

Changing the knob
Switch the machine off at the wall. Most knobs pull straight off the shaft, sometimes after removing a centre cap or a screw from behind the control panel. Note the position of the shaft's flat side or key before fitting the new knob, then press it on firmly in the same alignment. Turn it through every program to check each one selects correctly.
