Leaks and dispensing faults from a front loader detergent housing
The storage tank, also called the detergent housing, is the moulded box the dispenser drawer slides into. Water from the inlet valves passes through it, picks up powder, liquid or softener from the drawer compartments and carries it down to the drum. Once the housing cracks or its hose joints and seals start to weep, water can drip behind the drawer, run down inside the cabinet and collect under the machine. A distorted or blocked housing can also leave detergent behind in the drawer or push water out the front.

Changing the storage tank module
Switch the washer off at the wall and turn both taps off. Pull out the dispenser drawer and lift off the top panel to reach the housing. Photograph every hose, clamp and valve wire before you disconnect anything, and keep a towel handy for trapped water. Move across any fittings not supplied on the new module, reconnect everything and run a rinse with the lid off to watch for drips.
