WH8060J3 shaking, thumping or noisy on spin?
When the drum speeds up, a front loader relies on its dampers to stop the tub bouncing. In a typical friction damper, a piston slides against friction material and turns movement into a little heat. After years of spins that material wears away and the tub starts moving freely. The result is a loud bang at the start of spin, the cabinet rocking, the detergent drawer rattling, or the washer edging out from under the bench. A damper that slides in and out by hand with no resistance is worn out.

Fitting the new damper
Pull the power plug and close both taps, then empty the pump filter into a tray. Tilt the machine back carefully or remove the front panel, whichever gives clear access on your model, and support the tub. Release the fixing pin or bolt at each end, take the old damper out and fit the new one the same way up. Run a spin with a small load to test.
