A sheared or missing bolt leaves one shock disconnected, so the tub bounces harder and the machine may walk, bang or stop with an unbalance error. Fitting the bolt
Unplug the machine and turn off the taps. Access to the shock absorbers is usually through the front kick panel or by tilting the machine back with help. Remove the old bolt, line up the shock eye with the bracket hole and push the new bolt through. Tighten it firmly while leaving the shock free to pivot, then run a spin cycle to check for noise.
