GLO13-03 is a generic 1750W bottom element, a compatible replacement for Baumatic and Lofra parts 03010355 and H03746. It sits in the base of the oven and supplies the lower heat for conventional baking. Models on file include the Baumatic BAF9003, BAF9006 and BAF9008, Lofra LEF8EG, LEF9EG, LCF9EG and LPF9EG, plus the WKE800, WKE900 and DGEUCCT900SS.

Oven not heating from the bottom

The bottom element supplies the heat from below in conventional bake and similar functions. When it fails, cakes and pastry come out pale and undercooked underneath, the oven takes far longer to come up to temperature on bake, or the safety switch trips as soon as that function is used. If your oven has a visible lower element, you may spot a split, blister or burnt patch. Where it is hidden under the floor panel, a resistance check with a multimeter across its terminals tells you if it has gone open circuit.

Fitting the bottom element

Isolate the oven at the switchboard and let it cool. Remove the oven floor panel if fitted, then undo the screws holding the element. The terminals are usually reached from the rear, so the oven may need to be pulled out of its cavity. Photograph the connections, transfer them to the new element and refit everything. A hard-wired oven must be reconnected by a licensed electrician.
