Baumatic oven not baking underneath? Test the bottom element
The bottom element warms the oven from below and carries most of the load on conventional and pastry settings. Once it fails, pizza bases and pie crusts stay soft, casseroles take much longer, and the oven may never quite reach the set temperature. A broken element can also trip the safety switch or leave a scorched spot under the oven floor. Check it with a multimeter while the oven is isolated. A reading of open circuit, or a short to the metal sheath, means it's time for a new one.

Changing the lower oven element
Switch off at the isolating switch and let the oven cool completely. Ovens that are hard-wired must be worked on by a licensed electrician. You'll usually need to slide the oven out of its cavity to reach the rear panel or base cover. Note the wire positions, transfer them to the new element, lay any insulation back the way it was and test on conventional bake.
