FO603M is genuine Deflecto Supurr-Flex flexible duct in a 150mm diameter and 3.6m length. Flexible ducting like this connects a rangehood, exhaust fan or similar appliance to its outlet, bending around joists and obstacles where rigid duct won't go. 150mm is a common spigot size for rangehoods, but check the outlet on your appliance and its installation manual before buying.
Choosing and replacing flexible duct
Ducting carries steam, grease-laden or moist air from the appliance to the outside or a roof vent. Over time flexible duct can tear, sag into low points where moisture collects, get crushed in the ceiling space, or pull away from its spigots. You'll notice the extractor seeming weaker, steam or cooking smells lingering, condensation dripping from the outlet, or noise from loose duct flapping. Installing the duct
Switch the appliance off at the wall or isolate it before working near it. Measure the run and stretch the duct out fully so it doesn't sag. Fit it over the spigots and secure both ends with duct clamps or tape made for ducting. Support long runs so there are no dips, and check your appliance's instructions for the duct type and maximum length it allows. Take care working in roof spaces.
