ELGRI0009219A is a generic aluminium grease filter made to suit a range of Kleenmaid rangehoods. It is an aftermarket replacement, not a Kleenmaid branded part. Models on file include the RH8 and RH14, the SPOT90 and SPOT120 hoods, the KEY60 and KEY90, plus the TAMAYA90, FIORI, RHSGALA and FREESPOT120. The E81 and E83, the E84 and E85, and the E90 hoods are on the list too.

The filter sits under the hood and traps grease from cooking vapour before it reaches the fan and ducting. Over time the layers clog, airflow drops and the hood gets noisier while clearing less steam and smoke. A filter that is bent, torn or no longer clips in firmly lets grease past into the motor, which is a fire risk and shortens the fan's life. If washing no longer brings your filter back, or one has gone missing, a replacement gets the hood working properly again.

Changing and cleaning the filter

Switch the rangehood off at the wall and let it cool. Most filters release by pulling the catch or handle toward you and lowering the back edge. Compare the size and catch position with your old filter before fitting. To keep it working, wash it in hot soapy water every month or so, and avoid strong caustic cleaners, which can dull or darken aluminium.
