The EcoAqua EFF-6011A is a compatible internal water filter for Samsung fridges that use the short round DA29-00003F cartridge. It also cross references DA29-00003G and HAFCU1, so if any of those numbers appear on your old filter or in your manual, this is the one to look at. The cartridge uses activated carbon to clean up the water feeding the dispenser and ice maker. It is an aftermarket filter, not a Samsung branded one.
When to change a Samsung fridge water filter
Water from the mains passes through this cartridge before it reaches the dispenser and ice maker. The activated carbon traps chlorine taste and smell along with fine sediment. As the filter loads up, the flow from the dispenser slows to a trickle, ice cubes come out smaller or cloudy, and the water can start to taste flat or chlorinated again. Many Samsung fridges also show a filter indicator light as a reminder. An old or blocked filter can leave you with poor tasting water and slow ice production even though the fridge is otherwise working fine.

Changing the filter cartridge
Find the filter housing inside the fresh food compartment and keep a towel handy for drips. Twist the old cartridge out, take the cap off the new EFF-6011A and turn it in until it locks firmly. Run several glasses of water through the dispenser to purge air and loose carbon before drinking, then reset the filter indicator if your fridge has one.
