Rangehood light flickering or not working

Rangehood lights shine down onto the cooktop so you can see what's cooking. LEDs last a long time, but heat, steam and grease rising from the pots still take a toll, and a module can fail outright, flicker, dim or show only some of its LEDs lit. If one light works and the other doesn't, the dead module is the likely fault. If both lights go out at once, check the light switch, the driver or the power to the rangehood before replacing anything. A burnt or discoloured module is a clear sign it is due for replacement.

Swapping the LED light

Switch the rangehood off at the isolator or unplug it, and let the lights cool if they were on. Remove the grease filters for access, then release the old light from its housing and unplug or note its wiring. Fit the new LED module the same way round and push it back until it sits flush. Hard-wired rangehoods should be handled by a licensed electrician.
