LG aircon not cooling? Signs the inverter board has failed
If the inverter board fails, the indoor unit usually still turns on and blows air, but the compressor outside never starts, or starts and trips within moments. The outdoor fan may run on its own, or the whole outdoor unit may sit silent. LG systems normally show an error code on the indoor display or blink a status light, and the code points the technician to the compressor drive circuit. Storms, power surges, ants and moisture in the outdoor unit are frequent causes, so look for burnt components and nests when the cover comes off.

Replacing the inverter PCB
Air conditioners are hard wired, so this job is for a licensed electrician or qualified air conditioning technician. Isolate the unit at the outdoor isolator and the switchboard, then wait for the DC bus capacitors to discharge and confirm with a voltage tester before touching the board. Photograph the wiring, clean and re-apply thermal compound to the heat sink contact areas, and check the compressor and fan plugs are fully seated before restoring power.
