Product details
EBR81792401 is a genuine LG filter PCB assembly. A filter board sits on the incoming power supply and suppresses electrical noise travelling in and out of the appliance's electronics, helping protect the main and inverter boards. Boards like this are most often found in LG inverter air conditioners, but our records don't confirm the model this one suits. Compare the label on your old board before ordering.
What happens when a filter board fails
Because all the power for the electronics passes through it, a failed filter board can make the whole unit appear dead. A blown fuse on the filter board is a common finding, and it is often a symptom of a fault further along, such as a shorted inverter board or compressor. Surges can also damage the surge absorber or capacitors on the board, leaving scorch marks or a split component. Some units trip the circuit breaker as soon as power is applied. Test the downstream boards and compressor before replacing the filter board alone.

Fitting the filter board
This board connects directly to mains wiring, so isolation and replacement should be carried out by a licensed electrician or qualified air conditioning technician. Turn off the circuit breaker and outdoor isolator, wait for stored charge to dissipate, and photograph every terminal before disconnecting. Tighten the screw terminals firmly, as a loose one can overheat.
Questions about this part
Why did my filter board fuse blow?
Usually because something downstream drew too much current, such as a failed inverter board, compressor or fan motor, or because of a supply surge. Replacing the fuse or board without finding the cause often ends with another failure, so have the rest of the system checked.
