Product details
EBG61325805 is a genuine LG NTC thermistor assembly, a temperature sensor on a lead with a plug for the control board. LG uses thermistors of this type throughout its air conditioners to read air, pipe and compressor temperatures. Which position this one is for isn't on file, and there's no model list yet, so match the number on the old sensor's label or send us the indoor and outdoor model numbers.
How a faulty thermistor upsets an LG air conditioner
NTC stands for negative temperature coefficient, meaning the sensor's resistance falls as it warms up. The control board reads that resistance as a temperature and adjusts the compressor, fans and valves to suit. When a thermistor drifts, shorts or goes open circuit, the system may show an error code, cool or heat poorly, cycle on and off, freeze up or run the outdoor unit hard without reaching the set temperature. Damaged leads and corroded plugs cause the same faults, so inspect the wiring as well as the sensor itself.

Replacing an air conditioner thermistor
Isolate the air conditioner at the switchboard and any outdoor isolator before opening it. This work should be done by a licensed electrician or qualified air conditioning technician. Note where the old sensor is clipped or inserted and how its lead is routed. Fit the new sensor in exactly the same spot with good contact, plug it into the same socket on the board and secure the lead clear of hot pipes and moving fans.
Questions about this part
How do I test an NTC thermistor?
Unplug it from the board with the power isolated and measure its resistance with a multimeter, then compare the reading with LG's chart for that sensor at the current temperature. An open circuit, a short, or a reading far off the chart means it's faulty.
