Product details
The return air thermistor is how an LG air conditioner knows the temperature of the room. EBG61106804 is the genuine LG single return air sensor, which sits in the air stream entering the indoor unit. We don't have a list of the LG models it fits, so compare EBG61106804 with the label on your old sensor or with your indoor unit's parts list before you order.
Room temperature sensor faults on LG air conditioners
As room air is drawn back into the indoor unit, it passes over this sensor. The board compares that reading with the temperature you've set and decides whether to keep running, slow the compressor or stop. If the thermistor fails or drifts, the system acts on a false reading. You might find the room never reaches the set temperature, the unit stops early and leaves the room uncomfortable, it cycles on and off too often, or the display shows a sensor error. Dust and a loose plug can also upset readings, so clean the filters and check the connection first.

Fitting the return air sensor
Split systems are hard-wired, so turn the unit off at the isolator and switchboard and have a licensed electrician or qualified air conditioning technician do the work. The sensor is usually clipped in front of the indoor coil behind the filters. Fit the new one in the same clip so it sits in the air stream, not touching the coil. Route the lead as before and plug it into the same socket on the board.
Questions about this part
What does single return air mean?
It means this assembly has one sensor, used to read return air, the room air drawn back into the indoor unit. Some LG units use combined assemblies with a pipe sensor as well, so check whether your old part has one sensor or two before ordering.
