The door lock switch, LG part EBF61315801, keeps the door of an LG front loader locked while there's water in the drum or it's spinning. This is the genuine LG part, also referenced as EBF62534402. It suits a wide spread of LG front loaders, from the WD1013NDW and WD1409NCW to the WD12595FD6 and WD1410SBW, plus WV5-1408W, WV9-1410W and WDC1409HCW models.
LG washer door won't lock or won't open
Before a wash starts, the control board tells this switch to lock the door, and the switch then confirms the door is secure. Only then will the machine fill and turn the drum. When the lock fails, the washer may refuse to start, beep and stop after a few seconds, or show a door error such as dE. A lock that sticks can also leave the door shut tight after the cycle has finished. Broken door hooks, cracked lock housings and burnt contacts are all common causes.

Changing the door lock
Unplug the washer and make sure the drum has no water in it first. Fold back the door seal at the lock side, releasing the clamp if needed, and undo the screws holding the lock to the front panel. Reach behind the seal, unplug the connector and lift the lock out. Fit the new lock, plug it in, and test with a short rinse to confirm the door locks and releases.

Possibly. A dE code means the machine can't confirm the door is closed and locked. Check the door hook isn't broken and the door shuts fully first. If the door and hook look fine, the lock switch is the next thing to replace.
