Product details

EAU65065603 is a genuine LG evaporator fan motor assembly for LG fridges. On most LG frost free fridges, the evaporator fan sits in the freezer section and circulates the cold air made at the cooling coil through the freezer and into the fresh food compartment. If it stops, both sections warm up. There's no model list on file for this motor, so check your old motor's label or the parts list for your LG fridge.

Fridge warm but freezer cold? Check the evaporator fan

In a frost free fridge, the evaporator fan is what moves cold air around. A failing motor often announces itself with a squeal, chirp or grinding from the freezer that changes when the door opens, because many fans pause when the door is open. If it stops altogether, the freezer may stay reasonably cold near the coil while the fridge section warms up, food spoils faster and frost builds on the rear panel. A blade iced into place can mimic a dead motor, so check for ice first.

How to swap an evaporator fan motor

Unplug the fridge and move the food to an esky or another freezer. Remove the shelves and the rear panel inside the freezer, and let any ice on the coil or fan melt. Note the blade's position on the shaft and which way it faces, unplug the motor, then fit the new one in the same position. Close up and allow several hours for the fridge to pull back down to temperature.

Questions about this part

Do I need to move the fan blade across?

Our records don't say whether a blade comes fitted. Check the photo and compare it with your old motor. If the new motor arrives without a blade, push the old blade on to the same depth and facing the same way before fitting.
