Product details

LG part EAU65058318 is a genuine DC motor assembly from the same LG number series as its fridge fan motors, and we list it for LG fridges. Fans in a modern fridge either circulate cold air from the freezer coil or cool the compressor area at the back. LG records this one simply as a DC motor assembly, so the best fit check is the EAU number printed on the label of your old motor.

Fridge warming up or noisy? A failed LG fan motor is a common cause

A frost free fridge relies on fans to move air. The evaporator fan pushes cold air from the freezer coil through ducts into the fresh food section, and the condenser fan keeps the compressor and condenser cool so they can shed heat. When a fan motor fails, the freezer may still be cold while the fridge side drifts warm, frost builds up on the back wall, or the compressor runs for long periods and feels hot. Ticking, buzzing or a fan blade that is hard to turn by hand are other clues.

Changing an LG fridge fan motor

Switch the fridge off at the wall and pull the plug before starting. Condenser fans sit behind the rear cover at the bottom of the cabinet, while evaporator fans are behind the panel at the back of the freezer, so empty the freezer first if you need to go in there. Note how the blade and mounting rubbers fit, then transfer them if the new motor doesn't come with its own.

Questions about this part

How do I know which fan my fridge needs?

Look at the label on the motor you are replacing. If it shows EAU65058318, this is the matching part. If the label is missing, send the fridge model number from the sticker inside the fresh food compartment and we will check what LG lists for it.
