LG dishwasher not draining or showing a drain error

Whenever the machine needs to empty, the controller powers the pump and its impeller forces water out through the drain hose. Pumps fail when a broken glass shard, olive pit, coin or hair tie jams the impeller, when the motor winding burns out, or when the shaft seal leaks. You may hear humming with no water moving, grinding or rattling, or nothing at all, and the machine will usually stop with water left in it and a drain fault code on the display. Replacing the drain pump

Switch off at the wall, turn off the tap and remove as much standing water as you can before starting. Have towels and a shallow tray ready. Take a photo of the wiring connector and hose clamps, remove the old pump, then fit the new one with its seal and clamps seated properly. Restore power and water and run a drain cycle, watching for leaks.
