Product details
Part E22A89302 is a genuine Mitsubishi Electric line flow fan, the long barrel shaped fan inside the indoor head of a split system. Sometimes called a cross flow or tangential fan, it draws room air across the coil and pushes it out through the louvres. Mitsubishi Electric uses different fan lengths and diameters across its indoor units, so match the model on your indoor unit's label against the parts list for E22A89302.
Noisy or weak airflow from your Mitsubishi Electric indoor unit?
The line flow fan spins the whole time the indoor unit runs, so cracked blades, dust build-up or a worn bearing show up quickly. Typical complaints are a rhythmic thumping or ticking, a wobble or vibration you can hear through the wall, weak airflow even with clean filters, or the fan rubbing on its housing. Mould and grime collecting on the blades also unbalance the fan and can make the air smell musty. A fan with a broken blade or a loose hub should be replaced rather than cleaned and refitted.

Replacing the line flow fan
Turn the unit off with the remote, then isolate it at the switchboard or isolator. The fan usually comes out after removing the front cover, the drain tray and sometimes loosening the coil, so photograph each step. Check the fan bearing and motor coupling while it's apart. Wiring work on fixed air conditioners must be done by a licensed electrician or air conditioning technician.
Questions about this part
Should I replace the fan bearing at the same time?
If the old fan was noisy or wobbling, check the bearing at the end opposite the motor. A worn bearing will quickly damage a new fan, so it's worth replacing while the unit is apart.
