Product details
E225M3451 is a genuine Mitsubishi Electric inverter PCB, supplied with the RT64 thermistor, for Mitsubishi Electric split system air conditioners. The inverter board sits in the outdoor unit and drives the compressor at variable speed, which is what lets an inverter system ramp up and down instead of switching on and off. Check the model on your outdoor unit's rating label against the parts list for E225M3451 before ordering.
Signs of inverter board failure in a Mitsubishi Electric split system
Because the inverter board controls the compressor, a fault here usually shows up as a system that runs the indoor fan but won't cool or heat. Other signs include the outdoor unit not starting, the compressor starting then stopping after a short time, flashing error codes on the indoor unit, a tripping circuit breaker, or burn marks and a hot electrical smell from the outdoor unit. Many of these faults can also come from sensors, wiring or the compressor itself, so the error code history and proper testing should come first.
Part details
- Genuine Mitsubishi Electric part E225M3451
- Inverter PCB for the outdoor unit
- Supplied with the RT64 thermistor
- Fitting by a licensed electrician or air conditioning technician
Fitting the inverter PCB
This board must be fitted by a licensed electrician or air conditioning technician. Isolate the unit at its outdoor isolator and the switchboard, then wait for the board's capacitors to discharge, as high DC voltage can remain for several minutes. Confirm with a multimeter before touching anything. Photograph every connector, apply fresh heatsink compound where needed, and refit RT64 in its original position.
Questions about this part
Can I replace the inverter board myself?
No. The board works with mains and high DC voltages that can stay live after the power is switched off, and split systems are hard-wired. In Australia this work needs a licensed electrician or a licensed air conditioning technician.
