Fitting the knob

Make sure every burner or function is off and the appliance is cool, and turn a gas appliance off at the supply if you'll be working near the valves. Pull the old knob straight off its spindle without twisting. Line up the new knob with the flat or key on the spindle, push it on firmly and check it turns smoothly to each position and returns to off.
