Fitting the burner cap

Make sure all burners are off and the cooktop is cold. Lift off the trivet and the old cap, then wipe the burner head and check the ports are clear. Seat the new cap flat and centred, as an off-centre cap gives a lopsided flame. Light the burner and look for an even blue flame. If the flame stays yellow or you smell gas, stop using it and call a licensed gas fitter.
