The genuine Delonghi DAU1591066 is the lower basket assembly for the DEDW45S and DEDW645 dishwashers. It's the bottom rack that holds plates, pots and pans. It's worth replacing once the coating has chipped and rust has set in, the frame has bent, or the wheels or tines have broken away.
When your dishwasher's bottom rack needs replacing
The lower basket takes the heaviest load in the dishwasher, so it tends to wear faster than the top rack. Once the coating cracks, water reaches the wire underneath and rust spots appear, which can stain dishes and leave flakes in the filter. Bent rails or a damaged frame make the basket jam or derail as you pull it out, and broken tines stop plates standing upright, so they come out poorly washed. A basket that catches on the door or drags along the tub can also damage the door seal and the lower spray arm.

Fitting the new basket
Pull the old basket fully out on its rails and lift it free. Check the rails or runners it travels on are in good order, and clear any debris from the filter while the basket is out. Sit the new basket on the runners and roll it in and out a few times to confirm it travels smoothly and clears the lower spray arm.
