Fisher & Paykel oven losing heat around the door?
A soft gasket around the oven opening squashes against the door when it closes, holding hot air in the cavity. Once it hardens with age, splits, or its fixing hooks break off, gaps open up. You may see steam or smoke escaping from the top of the door, feel heat on the knobs, notice longer preheat times or find food scorching near the door while the back stays pale. A torn seal also lets grease and moisture into the door, staining the glass.

Replacing the oven door seal
Make sure the oven is off at the isolator and completely cold, then open the door fully. Starting at the top, unhook or pull the old seal out of the holes or channel in the oven front, noting where the ends meet. Push the new seal in at the top corners first, then work along each side and the bottom, keeping it even. Close the door on a strip of paper to check it grips all round.
