DAC5 is a genuine Deflecto duct connect sleeve sized for 125mm ducting. It joins two lengths of duct end to end, which is handy when a run is longer than a single length or when a damaged section has been cut out. It suits 125mm rangehood, exhaust fan and general ventilation ducting.
Joining 125mm duct with a connector sleeve
A connector sleeve is a short tube that both duct ends push onto, giving a straight and tidy join. Using one beats overlapping or squashing duct ends together, which leaks air and moisture into the roof space and leaves a weak spot that can pull apart. A well joined duct carries steam, cooking fumes and odours outside properly, so the rangehood or fan works as intended and less condensation drips back.

Making the join
Switch the rangehood or fan off before working on the duct. Push each duct end fully onto the sleeve so they meet near the middle, then secure each end with a duct clamp and seal the joins with foil tape. Support the duct either side of the join so its weight doesn't drag it apart.

Will this fit my 125mm flexible duct?
Yes, it's sized for 125mm ducting. Measure across the end of your duct before ordering to be sure of the size, and choose the DAC6 sleeve instead if your run is 150mm.
