As it loads up, the flow slows to a trickle, ice cubes come out small or hollow, and the water may taste or smell stale. Many Samsung fridges also have a filter indicator that lights up when a change is due. A blocked filter can stop the ice maker producing altogether, so check the filter before chasing a faulty water valve or ice maker.

Part details

Replaces Samsung part number DA97-17376B

Generic aftermarket fridge water filter

On file for 31 Samsung fridge models

Suits SRF and RF23M series fridges on file

Changing the filter

Find the filter housing, usually inside the fridge compartment.
