Fitting the outdoor fan
Turn the system off and isolate the outdoor unit at its isolator switch. Units with electronic boards can hold a charge for a few minutes after power is removed, so wait before opening the cabinet. Mark which side of the old fan faces outward, undo whatever secures it to the motor shaft, usually a nut, and draw it off. Fit the new fan the same way round and spin it by hand to check clearance. This is a job for a licensed air conditioning technician.
