Rather than a handheld remote, this wall mounted controller connects to the indoor unit by cable and is how the system gets run day to day. It's a genuine Panasonic part. Check that your full indoor model number starts with CS-F followed by one of those sizes, as the letters that come after can vary between versions.
Signs your Panasonic wall controller has failed
A wired controller sends every setting change to the indoor unit and shows what the system is doing, so a fault here can make a working air conditioner look broken. Look for a blank or flickering screen, buttons that no longer respond, settings that won't hold, or a controller showing a communication error instead of the normal display. Water, heat and power surges are common causes of damage. Before replacing it, check the controller cable for damage at both ends and confirm the indoor unit has power. If the screen stays dead with a sound cable and power at the unit, the controller itself is the likely fault.

Installing a replacement wired controller
Isolate the air conditioner at the circuit breaker before disconnecting anything.
